AWAY FROM HOME

LALACONTEMPORARY presents a group exhibit by Viviana Blanco, Julia Masvernat, Juane Odriozola and Andrés Waissman.

Away From Home celebrates the creative process of this group of artists from Argentina, during the artist residency program at Pouch Cove, N.L. Canada (June 2022).

The eclectic selection of works on view uses drawings, studies, paintings, collages, language, landscape, and imagination to evoke the artists’ experiences in a new topography, making way for new production, engagement, and experimentation.

This exhibit is about that incubation residency period. The works on display are a testament to the commonalities that arise from such a unique experience, and how the residency ultimately shaped the work of the artists. The exhibition also serves as a reminder of the importance of connection and support in artistic practice.
